What is the status of PF for NetBSD?

Re: PF for NetBSD?

PF exists for NetBSD thru a loadable module and I think that
the KAME people has an implementation that might work.

Even if PF will work on NetBSD, it is not likely that it will
be shipped with an official NetBSD release in the near future (if ever...).

I believe the main reason is the lack of interest among some NetBSD developers
to port PF to NetBSD. Many NetBSD developers think that IPFilter is
good enough.

Even if PF finds it way into the NetBSD source, it will not replace IPFilter
but it will be an alternative to IPFilter.

Sweet, PF is one of it's kind, nice to hear it has/will be ported to NetBSD. Let's wait for the 2.0 release then.

Re: PF for NetBSD?

As you might have noticed, PF was imported to NetBSD-current yesterday ( http://arkiv.netbsd.se/?list=source-cha … mid=276358 ).

Seems like we can look forward to an official NetBSD release with PF soon. :)

Re: PF for NetBSD?

I have been running PF on NetBSD/i386 for around two months without a single problem... only the ALTQ bit left..
